Role Summary/Purpose: This Position within GE S&PF will be embedded with GE Regional Sales & Project team across all GE businesses and closely work with field sales force including distributors to pro-actively anticipate a need for Customer/Project financing. Interact with GE businesses to work in a synchronized manner to meet their objectives in supporting projects with third party banks and GE money or financial advisory support.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead projects independently. Lead the underwriting effort pulling in expertise from the functional teams in tax, accounting, legal and operations.
- Advise on and structure transactions where GE is taking direct risk; either on Corporate or Project Finance basis.
- Leading and presenting to management the Market Intelligence around Early Warning Signs on deals and policy development in the economy and actively tie these to GE Africa strategy around our sectors and verticals.
- Assist in screening potential deals by reviewing deal documents and project requirements
- Support in preparing presentation materials to present project during deal review sessions
- Attend external meetings with clients to understand customer CTQs and assist in structuring deals to ensure bankability
- Develop key relationships with the financing partners (banks, private equity firms, DFIs, MDBs, etc.) and leverage relationships to assist in creating funding programs; assist in market intelligence for monthly market commentary & early warning signs in the region
- Support in the execution of Nigeria C2C MOUs in Power, Healthcare and Transportation, including but not limited to working on strategic alliances with banks and financial institutions to create financing programs and replicable funding structures for customers in GE key sectors (Distributed Power, Healthcare, etc..)
- Ad-hoc analysis including financial modeling on a project by project basis
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Degree in one of the following disciplines: Finance, Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, Mathematics or Engineering
- Minimum
3.0 on
4.0 grade point average scale
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven leadership ability and initiative
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Attention to detail
- Fluent English
- Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the region
