recruiting for news centres in London, New York, Lagos and Johannesburg and across international news bureaux in Washington DC, Dakar, Nairobi, Dubai, Rio de Janeiro, Beijing, New Delhi and Los Angeles.
ARISE Networks is recruiting to fill the position of:
Job Title: Bureau Chief
Key Duties
To coordinate the efforts of the reporting team, using sound editorial judgment.
To lead the news agenda in line with the guidelines of Arise News.
To lead from the front, ensuring that Arise News stays ahead of the competition in breaking news, exclusive stories and enterprise journalisms.
To improve and inspire the quality of journalism across the bureau.
Uphold and maintain journalistic integrity, accuracy and balance.
Develop professional contacts across government and industry and with other key newsmakers to keep Arise News competitive.
Work with other news management team members to set budgets.
Perform other tasks related to hiring, training and management of staff.
Required Qualification
A minimum of a relevant university degree.
Experience
A minimum of 15 years in relevant journalistic positions since graduation.
