ARISE Networks is a brand new global broadcaster recruiting for news centres in London, New York, Lagos and Johannesburg and across international news bureaux in Washington DC, Dakar, Nairobi, Dubai, Rio de Janeiro, Beijing, New Delhi and Los Angeles.

Job Title: Planning Editor



Key Duties
Draw up and manage the daily news and weekend diaries in conjunction with News Editor’s assignment, Executive producers and all members of the editorial management team.
Liaise with international bureau – compiling diaries and the assignment of stories to correspondents around the world.
Attend, and where necessary diary and weekly planning meetings with News Management and the broader newsroom.
Monitor newswires, all newspapers etc for upcoming stories.
Contribute to the forward planning diary in conjunction with National Assignments Editor and Deputy.
Plan ahead to ensure the best possible news coverage over weekends.
Attend editorial meetings throughout the day.

Experience
Must have at least 2-3 years working in a forward planning or assignments desk in newspapers or TV.
