ARISE Networks is a brand new global broadcaster recruiting for news centres in London, New York, Lagos and Johannesburg and across international news bureaux in Washington DC, Dakar, Nairobi, Dubai, Rio de Janeiro, Beijing, New Delhi and Los Angeles.

Job Title: Senior News Editor



Key Duties
Be responsible for leading News gathering operation for all platforms and programs by working closely with the Director of News, Output Editors and all News room staff both locally and internationally.
To help set the editorial agenda for news coverage by overseeing the news planning and network desk operations.
To help lead the daily news editorial discussions with a focus on original, independent and distinctive news coverage in accordance with editorial guidelines.
To lead regular reviews to evaluate news gathering, planning and allocation of staffing and resources.

Experience
Extensive experience in editorial leadership and proven track record at a senior level in television news and news gathering and production. Experience in running news operations internationally.
High-level planning and communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in leading significant newsgathering resources to execute editorial strategy.
Extensive experience in management of staff, budgets and resources.
Extensive experience in developing strategic networks and relationships at a senior level within the media industry.
