Security Coordinator at U.S. Embassy

The U.S. Consulate in Lagos is seeking to employ a suitable and qualified candidate for the position of Security Coordinator in the Regional Security Office (RSO).

Position Title: Security Coordinator, *FSN-09/FP-05

Location: Lagos

Basic function of the position:
The senior locally employed staff (LES) member is responsible, with guidance from the Regional Security Officer (RSO), for the planning, management, integration and leadership of the guard, residential security and surveillance detection programs. This includes the direct supervision of the local Guard Coordinator (LGC), the Residential Security Coordinator (RSC), and the Surveillance Detection Coordinator (SDC). At the direction of the RSO Security Coordinator (SC) is responsible for development of an integrated defensive security plan, for oversight and daily management of Post’s security forces (excluding the Marine Security Guards), and in coordination with the Foreign Services National Investigator (FSNI), for security planning and execution of drills with host-nation security forces and other elements at Post.

Position Requirements:
NOTE: All applicants MUST address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each criterion or the application will not be considered.
University degree in Law enforcement, Security, occupational safety or a related field such as criminal justice is required.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in law enforcement, security or occupational safety and 2 years supervisory experience is required.
Level IV (fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing in English is required.
Must have a thorough knowledge of host country operational environment, language, law and security entities.
Must have good working knowledge of standard security equipment
Must possess a Nigeria valid driver’s License
Selection Process
When fully qualified, U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S. Veterans are given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the application.

Additional Selection Criteria
Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
Currently employed U.S. Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
Remuneration
Salary: Or–Ordinarily Resident–N4, 221,908 p.a.(Starting basic salary) Position Grade: FSN-09 In addition to the basic salary, all allowances will be paid in accordance with the Mission Local Compensation Plan.
NOR - Not Ordinarily Resident – AEFM - US$50,544 EFM/MOH – US$43,378 (Starting Salary) p.a. Position Grade: FP-05
